Tuesday 6:45am
Good morning,
Larisa had a much better night. She still required pain medication about every two hours, but seemed to get some sleep in between. Kelsey said that Larisa is much more talkative this morning. That is a very good change. As Martin mentioned, Larisa got the dressing off of her left eye late yesterday afternoon. Her eye looks fantastic. She is scheduled for surgery on her right eye on Friday morning.
The doctors did make medication changes yesterday. Larisa is coming off of the Seraquel. She was on half of a dose last night, and should be completely off today. I am hopeful that her mental status continues to improve as she comes off of this medication.
Yesterday morning, I had a “Jeff” moment. I got down close to Larisa’s face and asked her if she knew who I was. She nodded yes. I said, “Well, who am I?” She replied, “You are Dave. I’m not stupid!”. I felt great! She is in there.
Wally and Joanne from Canada went up to the hospital with us last evening. They got to say hello through the door. Afterwards, I asked them how, with words, I could describe the situation. They didn’t have the words either. But Larisa’s affect seems better this morning, so we will hope.
Debbie took a hat up to Larisa last night. It is blue - to match her eyes! There is a possibility that Larisa may get to go outdoors in a wheelchair today. We will see what the day brings.
All for now. We hope that you rested well and have a great day. We appreciate your vigilance.

I have been following this blog since the beginning and commented back a while ago. We do feel for you folks and Larisa. So glad to see things heading in the right direction and hope her set backs are few.
I have enjoyed seeing others following this blog that I know amongst the many I do not know. This a.m. I was given a thrill when I seen Wally and Joanne mentioned. That must be the Radbourne’s? They went to my meetingwhen I was young. If they are still around say hello from Ginger (Lougheed) Smith!! It is a small world amongst God’s people! Hope all have a good day.

Good Morning! Happy Anniversary Jeff and Monica! Our 25th was on the 23rd. We feel for you Dave as you try to write. I feel like every time I talk to Monica or Jeff every encouraging thought or word leaves me and I feel completely helpless. May what we do muster bring you hope and encouragement. Give Larisa an “I love you” from Dalsey. We’re pulling for you.
Linda Says:

Its been awhile since I’ve put in my 2 cents worth–but we have been following along with Larisa’s progress and are so happy to hear everyday from you. I hope that her mental status improves but this is going to be part of the healing process. My husband Don talks about patients who get “ICU -itis”!!!! After spending so much time in the conditions of an ICU room patients get an altered mental status and can not be themselves. Hopefully changing some of her routine and getting Larisa up and about more as she gets stronger will improve her confusion. She has been thru a very traumatic ordeal and it may take time for her mind and soul also to heal. I can only imagine how tough it is to stand by and watch. I pray for patience and strength for Larisa and also everyone in TWR at this time. Love to all of you . The Heddens

Hopefully, stopping the Seroquel will help Larisa a lot. We had a relative who was on that and it wasn’t good. Happy Anniversary Jeff and Monica. Its great that Larisa’s eye surgery was successful. Glad to read Sheldon’s blog and see that he is improving.
Special Greetings and Love to everyone in TWR and TOWR

Glad for a better night….hope for a “sit” in the sunshine today….that does lift spirits. We have sunshine here today in the lovely Northwest after many many days of rain and I just feel rejuvenated….hopefully Larisa can get out for a little while. Thinking of you all so much and praying for courage and comfort for the next step…..

Our hearts are with you all, and we daily check the blog morning and night for your updates. Thank you for keeping us posted on Larisa and how all is going, both the hills and valleys. Larisa has come so far, and we are so happy with her great progress! Sometimes the length of the journey is most wearying, but strength comes day by day, one day at a time or maybe sometimes one hour at a time. Hope that all who care so much about Larisa and you all as we “stand by” can help hold up your hands throughout your journey of Larisa’s recovery! Tie a knot in the rope of faith and keep hanging on!
With love & care from your NH friends, Kent & Sharon
